According to Charity:Water.org, unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation cause 80% of diseases and kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war. Many waterborne diseases are preventable. The UN predicts that one tenth of the global disease burden can be prevented simply by improving water supply and sanitation.
- The Nourish Collective has written an instructional, step-by-step manual for making handmade soap for personal use or sale. The manual, intended for use in developing nations, includes basic education on disease prevention, soap-making instructions, and basic business development topics including pricing, accounting, and marketing.
The Nourish Collective is currently developing community-based education that accompanies the written manual and our formal training. Depending on the location and attendees, additional topics may include training on bloodborne pathogens, feminine personal care, and natural health alternatives.
